Ben Macdonald

Ben is a lead analyst in the infrastructure team within S&P Global Ratings. He has been in the team since 2010, and is based in the Denver office. He focuses on ratings and surveillance of single asset infrastructure projects as well as corporates infrastructure issuers. These cover a diverse set of industries including transportation (road, airport, rail), accommodation and social infrastructure, as well as renewable and fossil fueled power generation. He covers projects with both availability and volume based revenues, and has had particular emphasis on PPPs in recent years. Prior to his current role, Ben worked in the structure finance team at S&P, covering esoteric asset backed transactions. He joined S&P in 2006. Ben has a B.S. with a double major in computer science and pure maths, and a B.E. in electrical engineering (first class honours) from the University of Sydney. He has an MBA from NYU and is also a CFA charterholder.
